Black Girls Do STEM Event

Radiology Tour
We had an amazing experience touring the Radiology department at Barnes-Jewish Hospital! We were able to get a look inside several different Radiology departments such as PET Scan, MRI, Ultrasound, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine.

Adventures in Healthcare
We had a week long Adventures in Healthcare camp where we worked with middle schools students to introduce them to the wide variety of careers within the medical field. Through interactive activities and visits to hospitals across the St. Louis area, these students were able to gain hands-on exposure to the many pathways that exist in healthcare from direct patient care to behind-the-scenes roles.

Moulage
We facilitated an opportunity for aspiring healthcare students to volunteer as simulated patients for emergency medicine residents' seeking their Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification. To improve the residents training, students received moulage makeup to depict various injuries, gaining one-on-one interaction with healthcare professionals and exploring the trauma field through immersive demonstration.

Guest Speaker
LaKendra Kadiri from Barnes-Jewish Hospital presented about healthy and diseased organs, bringing in real organs to touch and look at!

Perioperative Night
Barnes-Jewish Hospital hosted us at the Perioperative Healthcare Showcase. We had the privilege of touring the operating rom and witnessing demonstrations from healthcare professionals in the Operating Room, Radiology, Patient Care, Anesthesia, Nursing, Perfusion, and Central Sterile Processing departments!
